A little bit ago I pointed out a negative review that the Baker Publishing Group spun into a positive one for use in online promotions. I thought that I would check back with the Baker site and I’m happy to report that they have apparently deleted the redacted review from the page (accessed 6:52am 2.4.2008). I think this was the right thing to do.

Oh, poo! That’s a shame. I thought it was hilarious! It was a perfect example of the kind of creative editing utilized in news reports, etc, to make a quoted person say what one wants them to say, rather than what they do. Like the movie blurbs in ads that show “Stupendous!” cut from “Stupendous Flop!” and such things.

According to one source, Kevin Edgecomb responded to this post as follows (and I quote):
“Oh, . . . it was . . . kind of . . . them to . . . do . . . that.”
