Thanks Charles! For what it’s worth, I thought your translation suggestions were helpful. I don’t think the Christian community is quite ready for the use of profanity in the Bible, but maybe the day will come…
Thanks, Charles, for drawing attention to this. I think Jerome’s rule (don’t innovate if it is unnecessary) is apropos, the quotation of which today serves as a rebuke of a significant part of the NIV update.
